"Schoss Construction did a complete renovation of what was our 3 bedroom ranch. The house is now a 2 story 5/6 bedroom cottage style. The project was extensive and Schoss Construction kept a tight schedule and completed the project within the stated timeframe. Ethan was excellent to work with. He was organized from the start and gave us plenty of notice for when we needed to have fixtures, appliance, etc selected. He was on the job every day and kept good communication with us. He ensured the job site was clean and tidy at the end of each day. His employees were friendly, courteous and clean.

"Our first renovation took place in 2000. At that time, we added a new kitchen and forth bedroom to our house. Ethan and his crew were professional, timely and their work was of the highest quality. The superior job Ethan did on our first job led us to hire him again this year for a much larger project. Currently, we are finishing a very extensive renovation on the same house. We changed our cape-style house into a large center hall stone front colonial. The work entailed digging a full basement under the house, removing the left side and the second floor of the house and then basically building a new home around the addition that Ethan had done back in 2000. The first contract was an extensive renovation of our relatively newly constructed home to expand Kitchen, Dining area, create a Reading/Sun Room, add two bedrooms, a bathroom and create a Wine Cellar and Tasting Room. "Ethan has been our only contractor since we did our first kitchen renovation back over 15 years ago. We first added an octagonal kitchen to our mid-30's center hall colonial which came off without a hitch. Then later when Tropical Storm Floyd came through and ruined our basement, Ethan did the renovation work and crafted extensive built-in’s for us as we redid the space. We lived in that basement for the next 10 years non-stop.
Several years later we again wanted work done and Ethan took on a smaller job as we crafted a master bathroom suite complete with a skylight and custom tiled shower. Ethan was just as professional during the small job as the big one to come. In 2009-10 we undertook a major project to build on two more bedrooms and create the stone fireplace family room we had always wanted. It wasn't easy with an older house, but Ethan completed the whole addition within his estimate. I've recommended Ethan to many people over the years with no reservation. If you want a craftsman who is passionate about his work, you want Ethan. Recently a friend of mine had a local contractor do extensive work and now at the end of the job, they are arguing over the punch list and who pays for what’ s left to do. Another contractor will probably have to be hired to finish the job. This is not how Ethan works. The items would have been completed, period, if Schoss Construction was the builder."

"We hired Schoss Construction to rebuild our house (from the bottom up) during late 2009/early 2010. We enjoyed working with Ethan and really appreciated his hands on leadership in the entire process. Ethan was very organized and well thought out during the entire project, which allowed for a smooth building process from start to end. Ethan effectively managed all of the variables in building our house, such as coordinating his work and that of his sub-contractors, as well as coaching us well in advance to order any long lead items in a timely fashion. By keeping everything on track, including when items like our tile selections, bathroom fixtures, lighting fixtures and kitchen cabinets arrived, our house was able to finish construction in line with the original schedule. Similarly, Ethan helped us as we worked through potential add-ons and changes. As an example, after a plumbing constraint in our basement was identified, Ethan’s flexibility and advice allowed us to work through several options, which allowed us to upgrade from an original planned ½ bath to a full bath, while also adding a wet-bar into the space. Overall, we appreciated Ethan’s approach and quality execution throughout the project. The quality is even more evident today 3 years after we moved back in.
